Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, is the fourth-largest city in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Zihuatanejo is now the third most visited area in Mexico after Cancún and Puerto Vallarta.

In 1968, the Bank of Mexico created a special fund for the creation of new tourist destinations on the country’s spectacular coastlines. The first two locations that the government targeted were Cancún, in the state of Quintana Roo and Ixtapa which is located next to the town of Zihuatanejo. Ixtapa’s was originally a coconut plantation and mangrove estuary.  This development of this government-planned tourist resort in the early 1970s, Ixtapa was supported by a loan from the World Bank.

Mexico is the oldest wine-growing region in the Americas, Mexican wine and wine making began with the arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century when they brought their vines from Europe. This event in Ixtapa blends a tropical paradise resort with Mexican Wine and Spirits at this lavish event!
