The “Gulf Coast Carnival Association traces its roots back to 1908 as Biloxi’s first Mardi Gras parade, which included 17 floats, 150 flambeau carriers, the new 12-piece Herald Newspaper Band, a grand marshal, the mayor and the councilmen. Today the Carnival Association continues the tradition begun over 104 years ago, with King D’Iberville and Queen Ixolib reigning over the largest Mardi Gras parade on the MS Gulf Coast with over 100 units.”

If you haven’t been to Biloxi Missippi, you’re in for a special treat. The Mississippi Gulf Coast has been transformed into a southern-style Las Vegas! At the Carnival on the Coast “you will find elaborately decorated floats. There are more than 20 parade with plenty of throw treasures like beads, stuffed animals, logoed cups, doubloons and food items called “Moon Pies” for bystanders!”
In 1908, the Gulf Coast Carnival Association was the first Krewe to parade on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with 17 floats.
Biloxi Mississippi is located in Harrison County. There are many interesting historic places to see.
Visit Beavoir, the post-war home of former Confederate President Jefferson Davis. There is also a Presidential Library on the premises at 200 W. Beach Blvds.
