According to Bon Appetit Magazine, there is a new Sheriff in town for burger lovers. Move over Au Cheval, because the Dirty Burg cheeseburger is the new Kingpin.
If you attended the Hamburger Hop at Chicago Gourmet at The Harris Theater rooftop in Millennium Park, you would know that Chicagoans love their burgers. Marial Noguier of Bistronomic won the People’s Choice Award but the prestigious Bon Appetit award is a horse of a different color.

We expect to be impressed by the culinary couple, John (the Executive Chef) and Karen Shields (the Executive Pastry Chef). As a sous chef, John worked under culinary juggernauts Charlie Trotter and Grant Achatz. He met Karen at Charlie Trotters. Even more so when his wife , a fellow Trotter alum, is the pastry maestro.
Chicago was crowned the Restaurant City of the Year and Chicago culinary couples and chef-owners are winning plenty of accolades. Elske at 1350 West Randolph, is run by David and Anna Posey who met at iconic Blackbird and won the Bon Appetit #2 Best Restaurant 2017. They also earned a Michelin Star in 2017.
