The Art of Fashion is the finale runway show of Fashion Focus Chicago 2012. On Saturday, October 20th, StyleChicago.com will also be hosting FashionChicago, a designer shopping event in the fashion tent at Millennium Park featuring one-of-a-kind shopping with Chicago’s top apparel, jewelry and accessories designers.

Put on Your Dancing Shoes for Chicago SummerDance 2012 Kick-Off

Chicago SummerDance is the largest annual outdoor dancing series in the United States. SummerDance returns for its 16th year of waltzing, jumping, jiving and salsa!

Chicago SummerDance kicks off at the 32nd annual Taste of Chicago, July 11 – 15, 2012 with DJs spinning a different genre of music each night in Grant Park, midpoint between Jackson St. and Congress Pkwy.

Then, Chicago SummerDance moves to the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park, 601 S. Michigan Ave. The final evening of Chicago SummerDance is scheduled to take place in Millennium Park on the AT&T Plaza in front of Cloud Gate.
The 16th annual Chicago SummerDance will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 4 to 7 p.m., weather permitting, from July 19 through September 16.

WHEN: July 19 – September 15; introductory one-hour dance lessons taught by professional instructors followed by two hours of live music and dancing.

Thursday through Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons

Thursday–Saturday from 6–9:30pm; Sunday from 4–7 pm.

Chicago’s Gold Coast Art Fair 2012 in Grant Park

Gold Coast Art Fair

Attend the Gold Coast Art Fair; one of the top 20 festivals in the nation. This is one of the most well attended art festivals in Chicago. “It showcases the work of more than 350 juried artists from around the world with prices ranging $25 to $25,000.”

In addition to the juried artists exhibiting, the Gold Coast Art Fair at Grant Park will proudly host 20 emerging artists from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Nearby attractions including Millennium Park and the Art Institute add to the perfect expedition exploring Chicago and the Gold Coast Art Fair at Grant Park.

WHEN: June 30-July 1, 2012 in Grant Park from 10-6 daily.

WHERE: Grant Park’s Butler Field, at the corner of Monroe and Lake Shore Drive.

Chefs on the Grill 2012 in Chicago’s Millennium Park

Watch 14 of Chicago’s Top Chefs compete on Wednesday, June 20th at Millennium Park at the Park Grill as you listen to live music in front of the Bean. Proceeds from the event go to the Special Olympics.

Vote for your favorite dish and drink to crown this year’s Chefs on the Grill Champion.

Gaze at the Peristyle in Wrigley Square located in the northwest section of Millennium Park. This Millennium Monument is a scaled down replica of the semicircle of paired Greek Doric-style columns that originally occupied this area of Grant Park between 1917 and 1953.

You will also have an opportunity to gaze at yourself in the ”Bean” officially known as Cloud Gate. This sculpture by Indian-born British artist Anish Kapoor is made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together and has no visible seams. It’s dimensions ares 33 by 66 by 42 feet and it weighs 110 tons.
