In the bar-lounge area, called the Library, the photos on the wall appear to be works by Vermeer. But in fact they are parodies; a woman has her hair covered in a turban of Bubble Wrap and in another painting, she has cans for hair rollers.

One of my favorite Vermeer paintings is Girl with a Pearl Earring (Dutch: Het Meisje met de Parel). This is considered one of  Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer‘s masterworks. He uses uses a pearl earring for a focal point. This incredible painting is kept in the Mauritshuis gallery in the Hague. It is sometimes referred to as “the Mona Lisa of the North” or “the Dutch Mona Lisa“.

I love the resin spheres on frames of iron tubing that decorate the Pump Room. They were designed by Dimore Studio in Milan.
