Attend the First Annual Germany’s Best and Oktoberfest! The last day is October 10th. You can have a German-style Columbus Day celebrating with Oktoberfest favorites like they do in Bavaria after the Columbus Day Parade on Michigan Avenue at Columbus Drive.
Head toward the south-end of Navy Pier on Dock Street for the Oktoberfest Tents. Indulge in some Bratwurst and sauerkraut or potato pancakes. For dessert try some Apfelstrudel, Bienenstich and Pflaumenkuchen.
To get your bearings, consider where you are in respect to the rest of the world.
Look for the folks wearing lederhosen and German hats. You can dance to the live music.
There will be plenty of ladies wearing dirdls that will be delighted to serve you Spaten Brau Muchen German beer.
Enjoy the German cuisine, live music and German beer. There’s plenty of authentic German merchandise. Take home a cool beer stein or a Black Forest Clock. For more information visit www.chicago-oktoberfest.com.
