Attend the Rivertown Music and Arts Festival 2012. The 26th annual event will be held in historic downtown Conway, South Carolina. Many buildings and structures located in Conway are on the National Register of Historic Places. The City Hall building was designed by Robert Mills, the architect of the Washington Monument. Conway’s downtown area has been revitalized with shops and bistroswith a Riverwalk along the Waccamaw River.
The free annual event has been held on the first Friday in May for the last 26 years. Blankets and lawn chairs will converge on the edge of the Waccamaw River as locals and visitors gather for entertainment from local and regional bands. The performances begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until dusk.

Enjoy Jazz and Gospel music. The festival also includes artist exhibits and demonstrations from the genres of painting, pottery, jewelry, glass, metal and mixed media. Chicora Car Club will be hosting a classic car show and downtown merchants will invite guests into their businesses. Local specialties such as chicken bog will be offered in addition to hot dogs and hamburgers. Local chefs will also offer some gourmet choices.
