Attend the 22nd annual Family Winemakers Tasting 2012 in San Francisco at the Fort Mason Center.
Family Winemakers assists its members in marketing their wines by
organizing three wine tastings each year. Two are in the Southern California; San Diego and Pasadena. The third event is held in San Francisco. The San Francisco event is a two-day event; the first day is for consumers and the second day is for trade.
This is the largest tasting of California wines in the world. For the full list of wineries, check out the website: http://www.familywinemakers.org/tastings/tastingsModule/participatingWineries.cfm?tid=22.

I love their varietal search tool: http://www.familywinemakers.org/tastings/tastingsModule/varietalMap.cfm?tid=22. Find out who is pouring your favorite varietal using the search tool. I found plenty of Barbera and Pinot Noir producers using the search tool.
There will be large family wineries like the Jackson Family Estates and Gallo, as well as smaller family wineries with smaller production and limited distribution. ”It’s a once-a-year extravaganza where you can tour and taste the world of California wine. Your ticket includes: unlimited access to 300+ wineries from 20+ California appellations pouring over 30 varietals and 750 different wines;
commemorative wine glass; a great variety of cheeses; on site deli. Many
wineries will be offering special pricing on select wines.”
